Trautvetteria caroliniensis, or False Bugbane, is native to much of the Western US, as well as the Appalachian area and parts of the Ozarks. It is a perennial that grows in moist areas: streambanks, moist woods, ravines. It blooms in mid to late summer with tassle-like white flowers.
