Stenaria nigricans, or Diamond Flowers, is native to the much of the US, including the Southeast and Appalachian regions, but also extending into the south-central US, the Ozarks, the Great Lakes, but is absent from most of the Northeastern states. It is a perennial that grows in dry, rocky partially shaded woods and along woodland edges, as well as in prairies, on slopes, bluffs and in glades and openings. It blooms in late spring into fall with white flowers.
