Stellaria pubera, or Star Chickweed, is native to about the eastern third of the US, but is centralized on the inner portion of that, namely the Appalachian area. It is a perennial that grows in dry to moist, partially shaded woods and along woodland edges. It blooms in early to late spring with showy white flowers.
