Ribes hirtellum, or Swamp Gooseberry, is native to the northeastern quarter of the US. It is a perennial small shrub that grows in wet areas, like fens, swamps, ditches, thickets and shorelines. It blooms in late spring into early summer with cream-colored flowers.
