Rhus glabra, or Smooth Sumac, is native to the entire continental United States. It is a perennial shrub or small tree that grows in open prairies, meadows, open woods and woodland edges. It blooms in mid summer with greenish-yellow flowers, the male and female flowers on separate plants.
