Iris prismatica, or Slender Blue Flag, is native to approximately the eastern third of the US, but is rare, and is only reported in a few counties in each state. It is a perennial that grows in wet meadows, prairies, ditches and along streams and riverbanks. It blooms in late spring and early summer with slender light purple flowers.
