Geocaulon lividum, or False Toadflax, is native to Alaska, as well as the northern most tier of states, except North Dakota, where it is not reported. It is a perennial that grows in dry to moist sites, in rocky, sandy, partially shaded woods as well as in bogs, fens and thickets. It blooms in early to mid summer with small green flowers, bright orange berries follow in the fall.
