Filipendula rubra, or Queen of the Prairie, is native to the northeastern US as well as the Central US, including the Great Lakes area, but it is rare in most of that range. It is a perennial that grows in moist prairies, meadows and fields. It blooms in early to mid summer with pink flowers.
