Eurybia spectabilis, or Showy Aster, is native to the eastern coastal and New England states, except Florida, Vermont, New Hampshire or Maine. It is a perennial that grows in sandy woods and along woodland edges, as well as in openings, clearings and roadsides. It blooms in late summer into fall with light purple flowers.
