Corallorhiza trifida, or Yellow Coralroot, is native to most of the US, except the Southeast and Central US, and is also in Alaska. It is a perennial that grows in rich woods, swamps, thickets and bogs, sometimes in dry soil, sometimes in very wet soil; as the plant has very little cholorophyll, it can be found growing in very shaded areas. It blooms in late spring and early summer with whitish flowers.
