Corallorhiza trifida, or Yellow Coralroot, is native to most of the US, except the Southeast and Central US, and is also in Alaska. It is a perennial that grows in rich woods, swamps, thickets and bogs, sometimes in dry soil, sometimes in very wet soil; as the plant has very little cholorophyll, it can be found growing in very shaded areas. It blooms in late spring and early summer with whitish flowers.
More information will be made available soon about this species and telling it apart from others.
