Clarkia rubicunda, or Ruby Chalice Clarkia, is native only to the west coast of California, in the middle of the state. It is an annual that grows in meadows, prairies, fields, streambanks, clearings and woodland edges. It blooms in mid summer, with pink flowers with red centers.

This plant looks similar to some other members of the genus. More information will be posted at a later time about differentiating other species.
