Bidens trichosperma, or Marsh Tickseed, is native to much of the eastern half of the US, but is rare in the Southeast, and is most heavily concentrated in the Great Lakes area. It is an annual that grows in swamps, wet meadows and fields, streambanks, pond margins and vernal pools. It blooms from late summer into fall, with medium golden-yellow flowers.
This plant looks similar to some other members of the genus. More information will be posted at a later time about differentiating other species.
