Ambrosia psilostachya, or Western Ragweed, is native to the almost the entire continental US, but is not reported in West Virginia, Virginia or Kentucky. It is a perennial that grows in dry, often sandy areas, along roadsides, railroads, woodland edges and in disturbed or waste areas. It blooms in mid to late summer into fall with small yellow-green flowers.
