Adlumia fungosa, or Allegheny Vine, is a rare plante related to Bleeding Hearts. It is native to the northeastern US, as well as Great Lakes area and down into the Appalachians. It is a biennial that grows in moist woods and thickets and along slopes and shaded streams. It sprouts the previous year and overwinters, beginning to grow as a vine in early spring and begins blooming in early summer and continues until near frost with light pink flowers.
