Veronicastrum virginicum, or Culver's Root, is native to most of the eastern United States. It grows in open woods, as well as woodland edges, and in open fields and priaires. It blooms in mid summer, with stalks of white tubular flowers.

This plant is the only one in its genus, and it can be easily distinguished by its stalk of white flowers and the whorl of leaves surrounding its stem.
