Trollius laxus, or Spreading Globeflower, is a rare plant, with two disjunct populations - one in the Pacific Northwest extending into the Central US, and a rarer one in the northeast, centered in New York, Pennsylvania and Ohio. It is a perennial that grows in moist to wet sites, like swamps, marshes, ditches, wet meadows and prairies. It blooms in mid to late spring with yellow flowers.
