Tradescantia hirsuticaulis, or Hairy Spiderwort, is native to southeastern US, and the south-central US, except Texas or Florida. It is a perennial that grows in dry, rocky areas, in open woods, outcrops and woodland edges. It blooms in late spring to mid summer with light to dark purple flowers.
