Symphyotrichum prenanthoides, or Crooked Stem Aster, is native to primarily the northeastern quarter of the United States, but also dips into the southwestern Appalachian area as well. It is a perennial that grows in moist open woods and woodland edges. It blooms in late summer and fall with light purple flowers.
