Symphyotrichum oolentangiense, or Sly Blue Aster, is native to about the middle third of the US, encompassing the eastern Central Plains and the Great Lakes area. It is a perennial that grows in dry prairies, meadows, open woods and along woodland edges, roadsides and railroads. It blooms in late summer and fall with blue flowers.
