Symphyotrichum laeve, or Smooth Aster, is native to the entire continental United States, except California. It is a perennial, that grows in open woods, woodland edges, prairies, fields, along roadsides, railroads and in other waste places. It blooms in mid to late summer through fall with blue flowers.
