Scutellaria lateriflora, or Mad Dog Skullcap, is native to almost the entire continental US, except parts of the Rocky Mountain area. It is a perennial that grows in moist areas, like swamps, marshes, ditches, shorelines and wet wood. It blooms in mid to late summer with purple flowers.
