Rosa acicularis, or Prickly Wild Rose, is native to the northern third of the US, as well as the Rocky Mountain area. It is a perennial shrub, that grows in moist to dryish meadows, along roadsides, in woods, along woodland edges, and along steamsides and lakeshores.
