Prenanthes roanensis, or Roan Mountain Rattlesnakeroot, is native only to the border where Tennessee, North Carolina and South Carolina meet. It is a perennial that grows in the mountainous areas, in moist cool areas along woods, trails and in open woods. It blooms in late summer with greenish yellow flowers.
