Platanthera aquilonis, or Northern Green Orchid, is an orchid native to the northern half of the US, as well as into the Rocky Mountain areas. It is a perennial that grows in moist, cool areas, like wet woods, meadows, ditches, streamsides, seeps, and in bogs and fens. It blooms in early to mid summer with light green flowers.
More information will be made available soon about this species and telling it apart from others. This plant has been erroneously called Habenaria hyperborea, but is not synonymous with that.
