    Pilea pumila, or Clearweed, is native to much of the eastern half of the United States. It is an annual that grows on lake margins, swamps, marshes, fens, in seeps and on river and stream banks. It blooms from mid summer into fall, with very small green flowers.

    This plant looks similar to some other members of the genus. More information will be posted at a later time about differentiating other species.
