Phlox drummondii, or Annual Phlox, is native to Texas, but is naturalized throughout the Southeast. It is an annual that grows in open fields, open woods, prairies, meadows, and along roadsides. It blooms from early spring into fall, with flowers that can very from white to pink to red.

This plant looks similar to some other members of the genus. More information will be posted at a later time about differentiating other species.
