Persicaria setacea, or Bristly Smartweed, is native to most of the eastern half of the US. It is aperennial that grows in moist areas like ditches, moist prairies and meadows, thickets, bogs, fens, floodplains, moist woods and shores. It blooms in mid summer with light pink flowers. In warmer areas, it often blooms in spring or even year round.
