Oxalis stricta, or Common Yellow Wood Sorrel, is native to the eastern half of the United States and is adventive in much of the West. It is a perennial, that grows in open woods, fields, prairies, as well as lawns and disturbed areas. It begins blooming in late spring and continues until fall, with small yellow flowers.
