Oenothera perennis, or Little Evening Primrose, is to the northeastern quarter of the United States, and also a rare find in the southeast, in northeast Tennessee and the western side of the Carolinas. It is a perennial that grows in fields, meadows, prairies often in moist situations, and can also be found growing at times in fens. It has small bright yellow flowers in mid summer.
