Oenothera biennis, or Common Evening Primrose, is native to eastern half of the United States, and is also found as an adventive in the western half. It is a biennial that grows in open prairies and meadows, as well as on the edges of crop fields, roadsides, railroads, as well as along woodland edges and in open woods. It has large yellow flowers in early to mid summer.
