Monarda punctata, or Spotted Bee Balm, is native to about the eastern two-thirds of the United States. It grows in dry, sandy prairies, and sometimes along beaches or dunes in dry sand. It blooms in early to mid summer, with whitish speckled flowers or sometimes yellowish flowers with brown speckles. In warm areas like southern Florida, the plant may bloom near to all year round.
