Lactuca ludoviciana, or Louisiana Lettuce, is native to the western half of the US, but is considered native in the Central US and adventive further west. It is a biennial that grows prairies, plains, on woodland edges and in openings in woods. It blooms in mid thru late summer light purple flowers.
