Hydrophyllum virginianum, or Virginia Waterleaf, is native to the northeastern quarter, and the top of the southeastern quarter of the United States. It grows in open woods, as well as woodland edges and also along streams and rivers. It blooms in mid to late spring and early summer with light purple flowers.
