Bidens discoidea, or Small Beggarticks, is native to the eastern half of the United States. It is an annual that grows in wet areas, like swamps, bogs, fens, swales, ditches and shorelines. It blooms from mid to late summer into fall, with small yellow flowers.

This plant looks similar to some other members of the genus. More information will be posted at a later time about differentiating other species.
