Asclepias exaltata, or Poke Milkweed, is native to the northeastern quarter of the United States, and the eastern half of the southeastern quarter of the US. It is a perennial that grows in moist to dry, open woods, as well as along woodland edges and trails in the woods. It blooms in mid summer with loose groupings of light pink flowers.
