Arethusa bulbosa, or Dragon's Mouth Orchid, is native to the Northeastern United States, the Great Lakes region, and slightly into the Appalachians, but is rare in many of those places. It is a perennial, that grows in bogs, fens and moist swamps. It blooms in late spring and early summer with pink flowers.

This species does not look like many others. It is easily distinguished when in bloom, by its pink speckled flowers. When it is not in bloom, it is very difficult to find because it has a single leaf that goes dormant not too long after blooming.
